The title molecular complex, C9H7NOC7H5NO4, owes its formation to an intermolecular hydrogen bond between the OH and NO groups, with an OO distance of 2.514 (2) A . The dihedral angle between the planes of the isoquinoline N-oxide and nitrobenzoic acid rings of the complex is 49.91 (4). The crystal structure exhibits overlap between the aromatic rings of the molecules in the [101] direction.
